Deidra LaWan Starnes

I am honored you dropped by to visit my site.

A native of Washington, DC, I have been a veteran of the stage for more

than two decades, performing at theatres such as 1st Stage, African

Continuum Theatre, Everyman Theatre, Folger Shakespeare Theatre, 

Huntingon Theatre, Mosaic Theater, New Federal Theatre, Olney Theatre

Center, Portland Center Stage, Shakespeare Theatre, Studio Theatre,  Shakespeare

Theatre, Synetic Theatre, and Wolly Mammoth Theatre.  My film credits include Ladder 49,

and Nocturnal Agony.

I have been blessed to work with directors such as Michael Dove, Derek Goldman, Ron Himes,

Tom Jones, Alex Levy, Christopher McElroen, Jennifer Nelson, Robert Richmond, Seret Scott,

and Serge Seiden, portraying a variey of characters and a wide array of genres.

​

My work as an artist includes theatre educator, director, and  acting coach.  Most recently, the

title of Film Writer and Producer to my arsenal, working on projects such as Healing Baltimore's Harbor: A Pipe Dream?
